Winter Camp - Windermere
20 Scouts took part in the 2012 winter camp, which took place at Great Tower near Lake Windermere from 20 - 22 January.
There was a full programme of activities both on-site and off-site. At Great Tower there were challenge bases involving trestle building, a string trail and crossing an "electric" fence. On Saturday afternoon the Patrols went searching for Geocaches in the Gummers How area with our recently acquired GPS's. On Saturday night there was the now traditional 'Space Quest' wide game at Great Tower Scout Camp in the dark!
On Sunday the Scouts built and fired "bouncing bazookas" and undertook air rifle shooting.
The weather was not very favourable on this occasion. There was persistent rain on Friday evening and showers and strong winds throughout the weekend. It was very cold the whole time.

An enjoyable camp in beautiful surroundings.
